Automatic age-based tariff transition for membership & subscription renewals
RELEASED IN V1.6 Are you managing automatic renewals with age-based tariffs? We propose a new option to handle age-based tariff transitions more conveniently.
Solution
Both Renew membership and Renew season ticket batch functions have a new option to allow you to choose whether subscriptions for age-based tariffs, for which the member or season ticket holder can no longer benefit from that tariff, should be renewed automatically to a different age-based tariff or whether those subscriptions should be skipped.
Both batch functions now also support zero amount payments and automatic apply the fees configured on the selected point of sales.
Getting started
The corresponding batch and batch functions have been renamed for clarity and consistency.
Renewal management, instead of Batch of subscription
Renew memberships, instead of Membership renewal
Renew season tickets, instead of Season ticket renewal
In the configuration screen of the two renewal batch function, a new option Transition age-based tariffs automatically has been added.
If this option is checked, the system will run the following steps:
If the subscriber has no date of birth defined in the system, the renewal will be skipped.
If the subscriber’s age remains within the age range defined in the current tariff, the renewal will be done with the same tariff.
If the subscriber’s age does not fall within the age range defined in the current tariff, the system will search for an age-based tariff, with the same audience category, and for which the minimum age in the range is equal to the previous tariff’s maximum age plus 1.
If there is exactly one such tariff, that new tariff will be used for the renewal.
If there are none, or more than one, the system will skip that renewal.
Note that the option Payment limit date has been renamed Reservation confirmation date.
Examples
Given the following tariff configuration:
Old season |
|---|
Child (<10) - Age range: [0; 9] |
Youth (<18) - Age range: [10; 17] |
Full price |
A child aged 8 years old has a subscription at tariff Child (<10) in the previous season. The subscription renews at tariff Child (<10) for the new season, regardless of whether the new option is checked or not.
A child aged 9 years old has a subscription at tariff Child (<10) in the previous season.
If the new option is checked, the subscription renews at tariff Youth (<18) for the new season.
Otherwise, renewal is skipped.
A teenager aged 17 has a subscription at tariff Youth (<18) in the previous season. The renewal is not possible, regardless of whether the new option is checked or not.
If checked, the system will not find an age-based tariff with an age range starting at 18, so the renewal will be skipped.
If unchecked, the system will not be able to apply the current tariff, so the renewal will be skipped.
